The Dream of Gray Shadesby ~pikachu-25

Another school project of mine. The topic was simply "Dream".

For this work I got inspiration from Miku Hatsune's song called "The Dream and the Cherry Blossom Tree". The song is like a link between this and my previous Miku Hatsune work. There are two characters in this work which have very personal meaning for me. I tried to get very dream-like atmosphere to this picture, a little bit hazy and mysterious. If you are sharp-eyed, you may notice a bunny on the moon, The Usagi. In Japan, there is this story about bunny who is waving it's paw and greeting people on the earth. Another version is that the bunny is pounding ingredients for rice cake. Usagi -story in this work is based on one of my dreams. Even though my original idea was to make this completely in different shades of gray, I wanted to take a risk and use some colours, but not too much. Because the work is black and white and full of different shades of gray, I wanted to use very light and pastel-like shades on the road which leads up across the Dream World. When I worked on this, I learnt something: Don't use liquid ink and Promarker markers in the same work, the composition of those markers will get the ink smudge pretty badly.

The Dream of Gray Shades is about the same size as the World is Mine, Miku Hatsune -work, A2. I used pencil, liquid Ink, Ink Pen, thin paint brush, Copic Ciao -markers, Promarker -markers and white Ink.

Nä harmaat sävyt ja pinnat on kyllä siistejä ja hyvin tehtyjä. Tosi erillainen sun muista töistä. Kiva nähdä mitä se kuvataidekoulutus on sulta poikinut

Musta kyllä sun pitäisi olla itsevarmempi siitä mitä osaat. Kyllä sä voi päästä vaikka minne näillä taidoilla ja muutut koko ajan paremmaksi. Sulla on lahjakkuutta kuvitukseen.
